Established in 2024, The Florida Fire Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization existing for the sole purpose of helping provide support in the areas of training, education, safety, health, wellness, and recognition, in the State of Florida. The Florida Fire Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the safety and training of firefighters across the state. We are committed to recognizing exemplary service and providing essential resources to those who bravely protect our communities. The Florida Fire Foundation is a direct support organization for the Florida Division of State Fire Marshal under Florida Statute 633.1423. The Florida Fire Foundation supports Florida's fire service community and holds itself to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all we do. This Statement of Ethics guides the conduct of our board members, staff, volunteers, and anyone acting on the Foundation's behalf.
1. Integrity — We conduct our affairs honestly and transparently. We do not misrepresent our mission, programs, finances, or impact to donors, partners, or the public.
2. Accountability — We are responsible stewards of every dollar entrusted to us. Funds are used solely for the purposes for which they were donated, and we maintain accurate financial records subject to regular review.
3. Responsible Fundraising — We solicit and accept donations honestly, respect donor intent, and provide accurate acknowledgment of gifts. We do not use high-pressure or misleading tactics.
4. Compliance — We comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing nonprofit organizations, including IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) entities and Florida charitable solicitation requirements.
5. Board Governance — Board members act in the best interest of the Foundation and its mission at all times, exercising independent judgment free from undue influence.
Violations of this Statement of Ethics may result in corrective action up to and including removal from the Board, termination of employment or volunteer status, and referral to appropriate authorities where warranted.
